Excursions and routes through Pyrenees
In summer, one of the most practiced activities in the area is to make mountain excursions and close to the Hotel Cardós there is a wide variety with different levels of difficulty to go with family or friends.
But today we will focus on a specific route that crosses all the Pallars Jussà, Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Sobirà and Vall d’Aran: the recovered route that they made in August 1956 Camilo José Cela and Josep Maria Espinàs. The two writers went on an adventure that crossed the Pyrenees from the bottom up and from that experience two books came out: Viaje al Pirineo de Lérida (1965) and reviewed by Espinàs in 2000, A peu pel Pallars i la Vall d’Aran.
This route has been wanted to recover and, more recently, the writer and hiker Núria Garcia Quera has re-invented the route through old neighborhood roads avoiding asphalt, unlike Cela and Espinàs, this way has born the path of Ramat de Camins.
Specifically, step 6 passes through Àreu until you reach Ribera de Cardós. A stage that lasts approximately 8 hours, we will walk about 23km, with an elevation of 1,170m ascent and crossing the Tudela pass. The landscape is very beautiful through fields, Bordes de Costuix, the towns Boldís Jussà i Sobirà, Barranc de la Mola, Ginestarre and finally we continue along the way to Ribera de Cardós, where we will be waiting for you at the Hotel with a refreshing drink and a room to give you a good shower 😉
Although the most important route is that shown on this map, the organization of Ramat de Camins also offers personalized routes according to the needs of each applicant group.
Ramat de Camins and Hotel Cardós collaborate actively to make the stays and needs of hikers involved in the different routes more comfortable and enjoyable. In addition, you can enjoy an exclusive discount for the route through the Ramat de Camins organization.
We invite you to make this route through which you will pass through unforgettable mountain landscapes and full of life.
We wait for you!
